FACES Grants of Excellence

DESCRIPTION
Ten grants will each be awarded $2,000 and named Grants of Excellence for the 2023-2024 school year. Grant winners will be selected through a competitive grant scoring process.
APPLICATION
The complete application consists of an information page and a grant details page. Only these two pages should be submitted. Grants with more than these two pages will be disqualified.
The applications must be typed using a font no smaller than 10 on the two-page application documents provided.
Do not identify the identity of grant writers or the school in the application. Grade levels or content areas impacted may be listed. Proposals with the name of grant writers or school on the Grant Details page will be disqualified.
No more than two names may appear as grant writers of a grant. No one may submit their name as a writer or co-writer on more than one grant.
Any employee in Auburn City Schools is eligible to submit a grant application.

Grant materials may follow a grant recipient to another school in Auburn City Schools if the teacher transfers. However, if a grant recipient leaves the school system, the grant materials remain property of Auburn City Schools and must remain at the school.
The deadline for submission is October 2, 2023. Instructions for submission can be found on the Application Information Page. Grant mones will be released in November 2023.
GRANT DETAILS PAGE
On the Grant Details page, describe the project in narrative form. Tell the story of how the grant monies will be used to impact students or learning. Also, provide a budget for $2,000, including the source of purchases, description of purchases, and the cost of purchases.
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Save the two-page document as SCHOOLINITIALS FIRSTNAME LASTNAME (for example, ESS Barbara Smith). Email the document to Wes Gordon with the subject line FACES GRANT by Monday, October 2, 2023. You will receive email confirmation that your application was received.
SCORING RUBRIC
Grants are scored based on the rubric below.
Excellent: Proposed project tells a story with strong evidence of careful planning and thought along with excellent potential for student learning. The budget clearly shows how the grant monies will be spent.
Good: Proposed project is described in general terms and is a good project that can be understood with good potential for student learning. The budget shows how grant monies will be spent.
Average: Proposed project is an average project with average potential for student learning. There is a budget for spending, but it lacks one or more elements.
Poor: Proposed project does not clearly describe the project and/or there is poor potential for student learning. The budget is not clear or is missing descriptors.
