Mr. Adam Keel
Greetings! My name is Adam Keel, and I am one of the two school counselors here at Drake Middle School. I began my DMS career in 2019, and I am excited to be part of the Auburn City Schools family! I will be working with the Cosmic Cats and the Pumas for the 2021-2022 school year. Prior to joining the staff at DMS, I taught English and yearbook at McAdory High School, served as one of the counselors at Hueytown High School, and most recently have worked the previous five-and-a-half years at Beulah High School/Beulah Elementary School as school counselor.
I received my Bachelor of Science in English Language Arts Education from Troy University in May 2006. Once I graduated, I moved to Birmingham, got settled, and began teaching at McAdory in August of 2007. Prior to beginning at McAdory, I got married to my wife Maegan in May 2007, and we now have two beautiful daughters and one handsome son. Chloe Belle was born January 2010, and Lily was born May 2011. James joined our family on April Fool's Day 2014! All five of us are a part of Auburn City Schools, as my wife is a first grade teacher at Cary Woods Elementary School and our three kiddos are in school in ACS.
Starting in January 2012, I began my Master's in School Counseling at the University of Montevallo. I completed my degree in May 2013, began working at Hueytown High in July, and then moved to Beulah High in January 2014. In January 2017, I began my Instructional Leadership and Administration certification through Troy University (Phenix City) and finished December 2017.
If you have any need to contact me, feel free to do so. I am here for you!
I am excited to see what this year brings our way! I wish you only the very best this school year!
