  • ACS Announcement Regarding COVID-19 and Online Learning for the Remainder of the Year

    In accordance with the Alabama Governor’s recently established State of Emergency, Auburn City Schools will implement a distance learning plan beginning Monday, April 6, through Friday, May 15.  The week of Monday, March 30, through Friday, April 3, is designated as a practice week to help our faculty, staff, and families uncover and resolve as many obstacles as possible related to this distance learning plan.  The week of Monday, May 18, through Friday, May 22, has been set aside for accomplishing missed assignments, etc.

  • ACS iPad 1:1 PACE Initiative!!

    For 2019/2020, Auburn City Schools is excited to continue the iPad 1:1 PACE (Providing Authentic Creative Engagement) Initiative!  With this initiative, each student (grades 8 through 12) will again be issued an iPad, a technology resource that will enhance academic opportunities across the school’s curriculum.  Please refer to the handbook located on AHS’s web page (Our School drop down menu) for more information.  Parents and students can also visit the My School Bucks (Parent drop down menu) link on AHS’s web page in order to pay the $50 ACS Technology Fee for use of the iPad and also to electronically sign the Technology Agreement form.  AHS continues to be so excited about this program!!

  • ACT at AHS!!

    On Tuesday, March 31, all AHS Juniors will take the ACT + Writing during the school day. There is no cost to the student or student's family for this test. Before this date, our Juniors will be spending time in Tiger Connect on the non-test portions of the ACT (for example, completing demographic and student interest information and learning about the best ways to prepare for the ACT). On the date of the test, check in will begin promptly at 8:15 a.m; students must be on time. Students should bring the following items to school on March 31:

    * Photo ID
    * Number 2 pencil(s)
    * ACT-approved calculator
    * Snack (to be kept outside the testing room)

    Cell phones and other electronic devices with internet or communication capabilities and reading material will not be allowed in the testing classrooms.

    AHS's Sophomores and Seniors may pursue alternate educational opportunities on this date or arrive to campus no later than 8:15 a.m. to participate in tutoring or other educational opportunities.  With parent consent and completion of alternative assignment form (Please click here for the form), our Sophomores and Seniors will be able to participate in a college visit, community service activity, job-shadowing experience, or subject-area tutoring.

  • AHS iPad/Technology Fee Information

    Remember! All of AHS students will be issued an iPad and case combination for their use during the school year! We are so excited about continuing this opportunity for our students! Textbooks, class-specific apps, and learning tools will be loaded onto these devices. As such, the iPad is a required learning tool each day for our students. Students’ personal devices will not have the same capabilities, including access to AHS’s wireless. Please refer to the iPad handbook located on the AHS website (Our School drop down menu) for more information. Before the device can be issued to the student, parents must visit the My School Bucks link (on the Parent drop down menu on AHS’s web page) in order to pay the required $50 ACS Technology Fee and also to electronically sign the required Technology Agreement form.  Please note that before parking passes can be issued, the AHS iPad/Technology Fee must be paid.  In addition, this fee must be paid before students will be allowed to purchase Homecoming Dance or Junior/Senior Prom tickets.

  • Jr./Sr. Prom

    AHS Jr./Sr. Prom ticket sales start Monday, March 2, and will be sold through Thursday, March 19. Tickets can be purchased in AHS 1326 every day during Tiger Time except for Wednesday! Tickets are free for Juniors and Seniors that have paid their Junior dues, and $50 for guest or students that did not pay their Junior dues. ​Any guest must have a guest form turned in by Tuesday, March 17. All guests must be under the age of 21 and approved by AHS Administration.

    Friday, March 13 Update:  Dear AHS Family: AHS's Jr./Sr. Prom was originally scheduled for Saturday, March 21. At this time, our system administrators are working with state and local authorities to monitor the situation and we will reschedule this event that is so very important to our students and staff. We will keep you posted as decisions are made.

  • Vaccine Clinic

    There will be a vaccination clinic at AHS on the morning of Monday, March 30. This clinic will be offered to all AHS students not covered by PEEHIP insurance. The following vaccines will be offered:
    -Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis (Tdap)
    -Meningococcal Meningitis (MCV)
    -Meningococcal Meningitis B (MCV-B)
    -Human Papilloma Virus (HPV)
    Please print the form from AHS's website (or your child's Schoology account) if you would like for your child to receive one or more of the vaccinations offered. You must indicate which vaccines you wish your child to receive on the form. If you are not sure which vaccinations your child needs, please contact the health provider who has vaccinated your child in the past. There is no charge to the parents for this service.
    There will be additional copies of the permission form at the front office for students to pick up. Forms may be returned to the nurse's office or front desk.
    All forms must be returned no later than Wednesday, March 25.

  • Work-Based Learning

    For students requesting Work-Based Learning/Education for the 2020/2021 school year:

    The online Application for Enrollment in this course should be complete by Monday, March 30, to be eligible to interview.

    Log into Office 365 to complete the online APPLICATION. There is only one document (Training Agreement) that must be submitted as a paper (hard) copy. The Training Agreement must be signed by student and parent BEFORE interviewing. If you are currently employed, have your employer to sign this form also.

    Come by AHS 1112 to sign up for an interview and to discuss your placement needs for Work-Based Learning. This will be an informal interview that will serve the following purposes:

    *Verify receipt of online application and training agreement
    *Discuss WBL employment options and your career goals.
    *Answer questions about WBL Requirements/Procedures

  • World's Fair!

    Do you love learning about other cultures? Are you interested in experiencing the world from your school home? Join us Friday, April 3, at our annual World's Fair celebration in AHS's Courtyard from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m!! Over 20 nations will be represented! Come with eyes to see, ears to hear and a heart to understand. We'll have food, music, fashion, dance, crafts and so much more.
