  • Parent Engagement

    Hi parents/guardians,

At CWES, we are always striving to increase Parent and Family Engagement! We love input from our parents. At the beginning of each school year, we have our Annual Title 1 Meeting. This meeting helps to explain specifics about what it means to be a Title 1 School and is often presented through a Powerpoint presentation. If you were unable to attend, please visit the Parent and Family Engagement Section folder. The PowerPoint is available. If you click on the small volume icon on each page, you can hear the voiced presentation that is presented at the beginning of the year.

Also, at the end of each school year, all parents are invited to attend our End-of-the-Year Parent Meeting. During this meeting, we discuss many aspects of what happens each year at CWES.

Examples of what we discuss include but are not limited to:

    • Revisions/Corrections to our CWES Parent/Student/Teacher Compact
    • How our Title 1 monies were spent this school year
    • Suggestions for how monies can be used for next year
    • Suggestions/brainstorming for improvements at CWES
      • ideas for more Parent & Family Engagement activities
      • suggestions on how to improve what we already have in place
      • suggestions/new ideas
    • discussions about our CWES Continuous Improvement Plan

If you have been unable to attend one of these meetings, please feel free to visit the Parent and Family Engagement section and complete the Input Form. Your input is very important to us.

    Many Thanks,

    Mrs. Link

    Title 1 Teacher

  • Parent Information

    • Would you like to know if your child's teacher is highly qualified?
      • Almost every teacher at CWES is highly qualified! We are proud to brag about this fact! We really take pride in having the best possible persons to help instruct children!
      • At the beginning of the school year, you receive a Rights to Know paper. At the bottom of each paper, the teacher listed his/her qualifications. This is to ensure that you are fully informed about each of our teachers at Cary Woods Elementary School. If you have any questions about classroom Assistants, feel free to contact Mrs. Snyder.

    • Did you know that you can be involved in what happens at CWES?
      • At CWES, we love receiving input from our families for all types of things, such as:
        • how our Title 1 Parent and Family Engagement funds are spent
        • what type of Parent and Family Engagement activities happen at CWES
        • how we are doing
        • how we can improve
        • Please feel free to give your input by:
          • Completing the Parent and Family Engagement Input Form
          • Attending one of our Title 1 Meetings
          • Attending a PTO Meeting

          • give your input on one of our social media outlets

    • Did you know that we take great care in reviewing the CWES Parent & Family Engagement Surveys that are completed each year?
      • We carefully review the survey results to see how we can improve. We like to hear:
        • what are we doing that works
        • what we may need to work on

    • Did you know that Cary Woods Elementary has many forms of social media so that we can keep you as informed as possible as to the happenings at CWES?
      • Parents have spoken, and we have listened! At our end of the year parent meeting last school year, parents spoke a lot about communication. There are many platforms and not all teachers were using the same platform. We are happy to say that ALL communications this year will be through the DOJO platform. We may use other methods such as email and paper copies but that will be in addition to DOJO.
      • Here are some forms of social media at CWES:
        • CWES Twitter Account
        • CWES Facebook Page
        • CWES Audio and Text Messaging Systems
        • CWES Webpage
          • Each teacher at CWES also has a homeroom webpage
        • ACS Webpage
