About the Teacher

Degrees and Certifications:

Miss Audrey Leach

This is my seventh year teaching, and, "there is no place I would rather be, than Cary Woods Elementary"!

I fell in love with Cary Woods during my internship in the fall of 2014, and I am so happy to be a part of the Cary Woods Family!  I attended Auburn University (War Eagle!) where I received my Bachelors of Science and Masters degree in Elementary Education.  I spent the first three years of my career teaching Kindergarten.  I then spent the next two years teaching second grade.   Last year, I returned to Kindergarten.  I am so excited to return to the second grade classroom this year!  This age is so sweet and their love of learning blows me away!

Here are some fun facts about me:

-I am the second oldest (oldest girl) of five children.

-When I was ten years old, my family moved to Tanzania, East Africa, where we lived for two years.

-When I was in elementary school, I thought that math was hard and I did not enjoy it.  Now it is one of my favorite things to teach!

- I love music and I think that incorporating singing and movement into teaching helps my students learn even better!

-I am fostering-to-adopt my son, DJ.  He is going to be a second grader this year!

- I am "Aunt Audrey" to 5 nieces and 3 nephews!

-I have two cats, and their names are Mona and Lucy.

-I love helping my students create writing portfolios to show their growth throughout the year!
