A

Intervention

ACS interventions help identify, support, and address barriers to student success. We use data-driven analysis, family collaboration, and targeted interventions to ensure all students have access to academic and behavioral support. Our goal is to use effective strategies to close achievement gaps across our school system.

  • In accordance with School Board Policy, Auburn City Schools (ACS) provides homebound instruction as a service to students who are not able to attend school for medical and/or mental health reasons. If a student’s anticipated duration of absence from school exceeds 3 weeks, the student will be eligible to request services under the provisions of these procedures. For more information, reference pages 41-45 of the ACS Section 504 Manual, under the Resources tab.

  • The Response to Instruction (RTI) model refers to an instructional framework that promotes a well-integrated system connecting general, gifted, supplemental, and special education services by providing high quality, standards-based instruction and intervention that are matched to students’ academic, social-emotional, and behavioral needs. In Auburn City Schools (ACS), RTI combines core instruction, assessment, and intervention within a multi-tiered system to increase student achievement and reduce behavior problems., to reduce behavior obstacles, and to strengthen foundational wellness. For more information, reference the ACS RTI Manual, under the Resources tab.

  • Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (Section 504) is a civil rights statute that prohibits discrimination on the basis of a disability in any program or activity receiving federal financial assistance.  In particular, Section 504 provides that:

No otherwise qualified individual with a disability in the United States...shall, solely because of her or his disability, be excluded from the participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving federal assistance.

For more information, reference the ACS Section 504 Manual under the Resources tab.
