As a public school system, we welcome all students who live within the district's boundaries and meet state age and health requirements. For specific enrollment information, please contact your child's school. If you need to find out which school your child will attend, please use the School Finder to look up the attendance boundaries for your address.

    We are thrilled to welcome you and your child to our school community. To help make the registration process goes as smoothly as possible, please review these important reminders.

    • Only students who currently reside in Auburn are eligible to register online.
    • Complete registration as soon as possible during the open enrollment period.
    • If your child takes medication regularly at school, it is required to submit a completed Parent Authorization Form and bring it to your school.  Click here for the form.
    • Future students who are not currently residing in Auburn should contact the Residency Office at 334-887-1906 for further guidance.
    • You might be asked for residency verification. We have the Residency Affidavit for you below.
    • Preschool families: Please wait to register until you receive official confirmation that your child has been accepted into the preschool program

    We are excited to begin another great school year with your child. To help ensure a smooth start, please review the reminders below.

    • Complete registration as soon as possible during the open enrollment period.
    • You will receive daily emails during the open window with the SNAPCODE.  If you need your SNAPSCODE, please contact your child’s school.
    • Forgot your password? Just click” Forgot Password” on the login page.
    • No email address? No problem, use your cell phone number to create an account.

    NOTE:  Registration for Returning Students  for 2025-2026 will be open from July 7, 2025, to July 18, 2025, at 4:00 PM

  • Students are registered by an Enrolling Adult. An Enrolling Adult must meet the following;

    • The custodial, biological, or adoptive parent with full custodial rights who lives with the child full-time.
    • A legal custodian, as outlined in Auburn City Schools’ Custodial Policy.
    • Someone with court-ordered permanent guardianship, as established by Alabama law or a judge’s order, and who lives with the child full-time.

     

    Important Note:  If a parent lives full-time in Auburn but does not have custodial rights under Alabama Law, they must have a court order granting custodianship in order to enroll their child in Auburn City Schools.

  • To help us get your child ready for a great start, here’s a quick list of the documents we’ll need to complete the enrollment process:

    • Proof of Residence – Must be in the enrolling adult’s name, within the Auburn school zone.
    • School Records (if applicable) – Prompt receipt expected from previous school.
    • Birth Certificate / Age Verification – Required for Kindergarten, 1st grade, and new students.
    • Emergency Contacts – Two numbers required for students in grades K-6.
    • Immunization Forms – Must be original and up to date (or exemption form).
    • Health Assessment Record – Alabama DOE form required.
    • Completion of Student Info Forms – All documents and data must be submitted.

  • Is it mandatory to reside in Auburn to register as a student fi we intend to relocate at a later date?
    Indeed, to register a student in Auburn City Schools, they must be a resident of the Auburn City School Zone.


    How long is the registration period for new students?
    Registration for new students is open until April 30th of each year.


    Is it possible for a Pre-K student to register and attend Auburn City Schools?
    At his time, we do not offer a Pre-Kindergarten program for students.


    Is a SNAPCODE required for registration as a New Student? 
     No, a SNAPCODE is not required as a New Student.


    Is it possible to register a returning student in the New Student portal wiithout having a SNAPCODE?
    No, all returning students who enrolled in the preceding academic year and remained enrolled for the current academic year must register in the returning student portal for the upcoming school year.


    Will I recieve confirmation upon the submission of my registration?
    Upon successful registration, a confirmation screen will be displayed.  You can subsquently log back in to view the confirmatiion and the submitted registration details.

  • During enrollment, we will request your student’s official transcript and record from their previous school. These should include all past schooling and have the school’s official seal.  For students in grades 9-12, transcripts will be carefully reviewed by the school to ensure they are placed in the right classes with the correct credits.

  • We understand that every student’s journey is unique, so here are a few helpful reminders for special enrollment situations to make the process as smooth as possible.

    • Non-Accredited Schools and Homeschooling – Students coming from homeschool, umbrella, or non-accredited settings will be placed based on Alabama State Department of Education guidelines.
    • Discipline from Previous School – If a student has been suspended or expelled, they must complete all disciplinary terms before enrolling in Auburn City Schools.  Additional steps, like counseling or alternative placement may be required.
    • Serious Code of Conduct Violations – Students involved in serious conduct violations (drugs, weapons, threats, etc.) may not be admitted until any legal matters are resolved.  Additional steps, like evaluations or counseling, may be required for safety.
    • Pending Legal Concerns – If a student has been charged with a criminal offense, enrollment will be delayed until the case is settled. Special guidelines apply for students with IEPs or 504 plans.
    • Exclusive Enrollment – Students must be fully withdrawn from any other K12 school (in the U.S. or abroad) before enrolling in Auburn City Schools. Proof of withdrawal is required.
    • Withdrawing from ACS – If you are planning to leave Auburn City Schools, just contact your child’s school office to let them know and share your student’s next school.
  • Welcome to Auburn! If your student is transferring from outside the United States, we kindly ask that parents and/or the previous school provide school and academic records during enrollment.  Certified English translations are greatly appreciated and help us support your child more smoothly.
