Alabama Literacy Act
The Alabama Literacy Act (AL-HB388) went into effect during the 2020-2021 school year. Alabama Legislators voted to delay retention of 3rd grade students until the 2023-2024 school year. The Literacy Act includes strategies, incentives, and interventions specific to the science of reading for grades K-3.
