Ms. Maria Gilleland

Hey! My name is Maria Gilleland and I am an Auburn University graduate/’87 where I earned a Master’s of Education degree. Throughout my career, I have taught multiple grade levels and subjects to include 1st, 3rd and 5th grade, 6th grade science, 8th grade Gifted science, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Gifted program, 7th grade History and Language Arts, and 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade Enrichment.

I love spending time with my family, watching Auburn sports and bass fishing. I enjoy singing in my church choir.
My favorite part about being a teacher is helping students become independent, critical, creative thinkers equipped with the necessary skills to problem-solve and be a productive force in the community and world . I am excited to be teaching 5th grade science and math! I am thrilled to be a part of the Ogletree family and look forward to an amazing year!
