Mrs. Henderson
Hello, my name is Amy Henderson and I am the music teacher here at our beloved “Crayon School”. I hold an undergraduate degree in Music Education (Auburn University, 2007) and a graduate degree in Education (Walden University, 2020). In the last fifteen years, I have taught high school chorus, preschool, and students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Within Auburn City Schools, I have enjoyed teaching students at Auburn Early Education Center, Cary Woods, and now Dean Road Elementary. When I am not teaching music, I love to spend time with my family and my dogs, Lilly Honey the miniature goldendoodle and Oscar Mayer the miniature dachshund. Keep on singing and smiling, friends!

Overview of DRES Music Program
-
Our music program is built upon the state and national standards. Our students create, perform, respond and connect in music class to a variety of styles of music. Students at Dean Road have the opportunity to play a variety of classroom percussion instruments and learn about a wide collection of musicians and instruments from all over the world. In the music room, we have the space to move our bodies purposefully and meaningfully to match the music we hear and study. We enjoy singing, dancing, reading rhythms, creating sound stories, composing, and celebrating how music connects us with one another as well as other cultures and times in history.
