Overview of DRES Art Program
-
The Dean Road Art Room is an amazing place for learning by using creativity and the imagination. Science, math, and reading are all important components in the art room.
Students will learn about a wide variety of artists. Included in this impressive list of artists are Monet, Van Gogh, Kandinsky, Klee (pronounced "Clay"), O'Keeffe, Chihuly, and Picasso. DRES artists will have opportunities throughout the year to experiment with a wide variety of art supplies such as paint, pastels, and clay. Projects, depending on the grade level, may include sculpture, weaving, and painting.
My goal as the Dean Road Art Teacher is to truly make every child know that he or she IS an artist. No one is exactly the same so no art created here should look the same! In the words of Peter Reynolds, author of THE DOT, "Just make a mark and see where it takes you!"
