  • Healthy Snacks

CWES Explorers learned about Healthy Food Choices on Tuesday.  Foodplay Productions taught us about how healthy snacks make us strong and keep us from getting tired.

Healthy snacks for our Explorers include: pretzels, fruit, vegetables, cheese, granola bars, dry cereal with minimal sugar

Here is a link to the FoodPlay website where students can play fun games to reinforce what they learned.

  • Cary Connect

The goal of the program is to build community and ensure that every student at CWES has an adult advocate in addition to their homeroom teacher. One who knows their names, says hello in the hall, compliments them when they see them being a good citizen, congratulates them at PTO programs, and encourages them whenever they see them. The group lessons follow a curriculum that focuses on the Alabama State Character Education course of study and make connections to other subjects such as math, science, and reading. All groups are led by a certified teacher and some may have another adult friend who joins the group conversations and participates at the direction of a certified teacher or administrator. The groups will meet for 30 minutes once a month. Each school in Auburn City Schools has been charged with creating a formal, structured program, such as our Cary Connect, addressing the goal of providing advocates for children.

Our next Cary Connect is Friday, September 30th!
