  • LitWits Book Club Coming Soon!

    Our next LitWits book club meeting (sponsored by Auburn Public Library) will be Wednesday, November 8th during ALL lunch waves.  Bring your lunch to the Reading Room during your lunch wave and be prepared to discuss your historical selection for the month.  Hope to see you there!!

  • J. F. Drake Middle School Becomes the FIRST CKH National Showcase School in Alabama

    For the 2022-2023 school year, the Capturing Kid’s Hearts National Showcase Schools Award was granted to 468 school campuses across the United States.  Capturing Kids’ Hearts is proud to recognize the outstanding educators who have dedicated themselves to making a difference in the lives of our children here at Drake Middle School!  Drake is the FIRST school in Alabama to receive this prestigious recognition.  Click here to read more.

  • Book It For Drake 5K and Fun Run

    Get ready to run!  We are so excited about our annual Book It For Drake 5K and Fun Run taking place Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Town Creek Park. Registration is open and we are hoping for 100% participation from all families at Drake. 
     
    The purpose of this event is to raise money for new books and technology for our students, as well as classroom materials and professional development for our teachers. In honor of our registration opening, we are excited to offer PBIS points for every student who signs up.  The cost for ACS students is $20 (the discount comes off at the end) and $30 for everyone else. Registration includes a t-shirt! You can sign up HERE.

  • Student Check-Out Policy

    Due to the traffic limitations in our front driveway and afternoon bus pickup, checkouts will not be permitted after 3:00 PM each day.  Please make plans to check your child out prior to 3:00 PM if you have afternoon appointments, etc.

  • Handbook Reminders

    Cell Phones (pg. 5 in the DMS Student/Parent Handbook): If the device is visible, heard, or in use we will confiscate the device in line with the procedures detailed in the handbook.

    Dress Code (pg. 23-24 in the ACS Parent and Student Handbook): As a reminder, the updated dress code policy went into effect in January 2023.  Please revisit clothing choices with your student to ensure they are in line with the procedures in the handbook.

  • Auburn City Schools 2028 Master Plan

    In May 2018, the Board of Education approved Facility Plan 2028, a 10-year plan addressing the demolition, reconstruction and renovation of buildings and the impact of student growth on facilities capacity. Phase I of this plan, which began in the Fall 2018, includes the renovation and reconstruction of J. F. Drake Middle School.  Click HERE to access the PDF to the 2028 Master Plan.
