Welcome to my classroom! Let me tell you a little about
myself. I grew up on a farm in Illinois where we raised a
little bit of everything from chickens to soybeans and corn.
My sister and brother were my main playmates growing up and
my classes have loved hearing about the adventures we had on
the farm.
I
graduated from University of Illinois with a B.S. in
Elementary Education and married my husband, Bruce Tatarchuk.
While he was working on his doctorate at the University of
Wisconsin, I taught first grade at Verona Elementary in
Verona, Wisconsin.
After
Bruce graduated, we moved to Auburn with our brand new
daughter, Anna. A few years later, we added John to our
family. We have enjoyed living and working in the Auburn
community. Our
children were blessed with many opportunities thanks to
Auburn City Schools; both
graduated from Auburn High School well prepared for Auburn
University. Anna has graduated from AU, and John is a senior
in electrical engineering.
I have
taught in the Auburn City School system since 1991, teaching
third grade, three/four multiage and fourth grades and have
20 years experience in the classroom. In 2003 after my son
graduated from high school, I went back to college and
completed both my master’s and my educational specialist
degrees in elementary education. I have been at Yarbrough
since it opened in 1998 and am excited to work with such a
great faculty and staff. I look forward to a wonderful
school year!
