to School!
We
had a great first day of school! The children were
wonderful. We talked about building a classroom community
where we support, help, and learn together. The children
created their own classroom community book, with an emphasis
on respect, responsibility, and safety, our school rules.
Curriculum
Night
Wednesday,
August 20th, third grade will have curriculum
night from 5-6. We will talk about what your child will be
learning this year, what to expect for homework, school
procedures and how to help your child. It is very important
that we see parents. I hope to see everybody!
Homework
this Week
This
week the children will begin to bring their homework folders
home.
This
week our homework is reading 20 minutes each night. Please
sign the Yarbrough reading card to indicate that your child
has read for 20 minutes. It is not necessary to list all of
the books your child read here if he/she read several short
picture books. Each slot on the reading card represents 20
minutes. Your signature tells me your child completed the 20
minutes.
Please
send back any forms that you have left from your
registration packet.

I
believe I have gotten most of your email addresses. If you
have email though, and have not received an email to test my
distribution list, please send it to me. I know we missed a
couple of people at Meet the Teacher.
Newsletters
Newsletters
are sent home each Monday. They contain homework
assignments, news from the classroom, and upcoming events. I
put them on my web page each week in addition to the hard
