Hello everyone,

It has been my pleasure for the past few years to be the Coordinator of the MAGNET after school program here at Yarbrough. I was one of the pioneers of this school and have loved every year. My goal for your child is that we offer a safe, happy environment .  I truly believe we have the best after school program in the city (yes, I'm partial!). Much of that is due to the dedication of my staff. All of my Instructors are either attending college or have already graduated. Several are education majors or at least considering it. They give their best to helping the children succeed with whatever they are doing. 

I also believe we have the best children. It has been a joy watching them grow and blossom. We treat each child as an individual with love and respect. We have a structured program that allows each child to know exactly what he/she will be doing every day. We also allow the children to have an input into the daily routine. Sometimes they want to "vote" on what to do for the day. Usually that tells me something needs to change !! They are getting a little bored! 

Homework is a very important part of our day. We work very closely with the classroom teacher to help the children complete their assignments.  If your child is not completing homework, please contact me. Plenty of time is given to each child for completion of homework. If you would rather your child do homework at home with you, please let me know this also. 

Remember to pick up your child before 5:30. This is our time to close. A late fee will be charged after that time. Your promptness allows us to fulfill other obligations outside of work.
