What do I need to do if I would like to visit my child's class?I encourage and welcome parents to visit our classroom. You are welcome to eat lunch or come visit our classroom. If you are visiting the classroom, please stop by the office to sign in and get a visitor's tag. If you plan to eat lunch, please send a note so that we can prepare extra lunches. This year (2007-08) our lunch time is 11:29 - 12:00. How much is lunch and can other family members come to visit or eat lunch?The price for the adult lunch is $3.00 and you may invite others to visit or eat. Please let me know how many people will be visiting by sending a note or e-mailing me as soon as possible. Back to TopIt's my child's birthday. Can I send or bring some snacks, cupcake, etc.?Yes! Birthdays are still very special times for 1st graders. If you plan to bring something, I would prefer that you do it after lunch. We eat lunch from 11:29 - 12:00 this year (07-08). Please come in to share your child's birthday goodies! Be here around 11:50 so that we can finish up by 12:10. Can I go on class field trips?We welcome parents to go on most field trips. However, space is usually limited on the buses for parents. There will be some field trips that parents will not be allowed to ride the buses due to the limited space. If you are interested in going on a field trip please let me know as soon as possible. Back to TopWhat time does school begin?Most students arrive between 7:10 and 7:20. The first bell rings at 7:30 a.m. Students are considered tardy after 7:30 and must check in at the office to get added to the attendance for that day. Breakfast is served from 7:10-7:30. It is important to keep this time in mind if your child has not had the opportunity to eat breakfast at home! Back to TopWhat time is school dismissed?The bus riders are dismissed at 2:20. Car riders are dismissed at 2:25. Can I have a list of all the students in the class?Yes. Parents often ask for a list of students in our class for special occasions such as birthdays, Valentine's Day, or other special events. Please e-mail or send a note, and I will send a list home with your child. If you are planning to give invitations or cards out at school, please give one to all of the students in our class. It's hard to explain to a First Grader why he or she was not invited or given a card for a special event. I do not mind your child passing out invitations or cards if you keep everyone in mind when you send invitations and cards to school. Thank you! Back to Top |
