"To sit and dream, to sit and read,
To sit and learn about the world"-Langston Hughes

The mission of the WMR RLC is to enrich the diverse learning experiences occurring throughout the building through high task, high tech, and high touch experiences that are critical and connected to the life of the learner, and which promote global awareness, a greater sense of self, and life long learning.

Catch the Summer Reading Bug Forms Here!

Every WMR child (up to emerging 5th graders) is encouraged to “Catch the Summer Reading Bug” this summer.  You will receive a reading log to track your summer reading.  When you return your reading log, after reading the recommended amounts*, your name will go into a drawing for prizes to be awarded at the beginning of the school year.

          Recommended Reading Amounts

Entering 1st & 2nd grade-20 picture books

Entering 3rd grade-20 picture books or 5 chapter books

Entering 4th & 5th grade-6 chapter books

For added enrichment this year, I am requesting that each student send me a postcard telling me about a good book they read this summer.  The card should include the title and author of one book they read and WHY they liked it.  The postcards will be displayed on a bulletin board in the fall.

If you should lose your reading log, a new one can be found on the WMR web page, http://www.auburnschools.org/wrightsmill/New_web/WMR/index.htm.

Happy Summer Reading!!
