Guidance counselors from several other Auburn elemenText Box: tary schools were at Richland to help students Wednesday. Mrs. Oprandy called everyone in her class Tuesday to let them know about Brianea.

“Everybody is sad -- sad and very upset,” Mrs. Oprandy said. “We made a book about her. Our class is going to have a remembrance for her. Everyone will write down a thought about her and put it in a balloon. Then, we will release the balloons. Later this year we will plant a tree in her memory outside our classroom window. We will never forget her.”

Third grader Samantha Mendoza said Brianea was “precious.”
“She always had a big smile on her face,” Mendoza said. “I was in the After School program last year with her at Yarbrough. She was in first grade then. She was always talking to people she didn’t know. She loved to meet people. She was always happy. Text Box: Her cousin, Ina Mason, a fifth grade at Res said,” She was a bit of sunshine in my life!”
