Counseling Services Mr. Hooks provides Ogletree Elementary School with classroom guidance lessons and small group sessions on a variety of topics ranging from good citizenship, academic success, and career awareness to decision making skills and understanding diversity. In addition to regular classroom guidance and small groups, Mr. Hooks provides students with individual counseling. Mr. Hooks works collaboratively with teachers and parents to develop intervention strategies, classroom modifications and action plans to help students be successful emotionally, socially and academically. Mr. Hooks works closely with community agencies to assist students and their families with special needs.
Students may refer themselves for counseling services at school. They may tell a teacher or administrator they need to see Mr. Hooks, they may tell Mr. Hooks directly or they may leave a note in his office mailbox. Parents and teachers may also refer students for counseling services by contacting Mr. Hooks via email at blhooks@auburnschools.org. Parents are always welcomed to come by or call at 887-4923. Confidentiality School counselors are held to the same, strict confidentiality standards as other professional counselors. Issues shared in a student and/or parent counseling session will remain confidential except for the following three cases: * Student or parent threatens to hurt themselves * Student or parent threatens to hurt someone else * Student reports being hurt or threatened by someone If you have any questions or would like to meet Mr. Hooks, Please call or come by Ogletree Elementary.
