Who is my school counselor?

Students are assigned a counselor based on their last name.  Mrs. Cindy Bishop will serve students whose last name begins with A-L, and Mrs. Sherri Rainer will serve students whose last name begins with M-Z.

 What is the school counselor’s job?

Our most important job is providing encouragement and support for student success.   We want to help students have a great middle school experience in academic, career, and personal/social areas.

We also look forward to helping students explore and connect interests and abilities with future career choices.  Additionally, we work with students to identify their personal strengths and acquire interpersonal skills to effectively interact with others. 

 How can I see my counselor?

All students are welcome to schedule individual appointments by filling out a counselor request form located outside the counseling offices on the main hall or having a teacher send an email.

 What are Sixth Grade Small Groups?

We will hold several small group counseling sessions for all sixth graders throughout the year.  Session topics will include:  transition to middle school, progress reports, promotion criteria, study skill strategies, career interest inventory and exploration, registration for seventh grade, and a reflection of the school year.
