Welcome to the J.F. Drake Middle School Website. As principal, I am beginning my 10th year at Drake School. Prior to my becoming principal, I served as the assistant principal at Drake for four years and before that, I lived in the Chicago area where I attended high school and college. It is an honor to work with such talented students, staff, and parents in our Auburn community.
J.F. Drake Middle School is committed to the Middle School Philosophy, and embraces the middle school child. Our students are assigned to teams at the beginning of each school year. The students and parents grow and develop relationships with their teachers and team members throughout the year.
It is our belief that every child has a special gift,
and it is our job to tap into each student's individual learning style and
strengths. Our school climate is one of energy, excitement,
creativity, and success. We believe in celebrating success and the
individual child. Team celebrations are held each 9 weeks, and
during the year students enjoy multiple school-wide functions, pep
rallies, trips, and programs. Auburn University is a valuable
resource and provides many speakers and visitors.
