continued talking about discounts and tax when shopping. This proved to be a very
difficult topic, but it is one of the most applicable for life! Many
students are struggling with this concept. Please
use every opportunity at home to discuss this with receipts! We will
do restaurant bills tomorrow (tax and tip).
- I am trying
to show shortcuts. Ex: If a shirt is 25% off, you can multiply the
cost by 0.75 to give you the final price rather than having to multiply by
0.25 then subtract. Or if tax is 8%, you can multiply by 1.08 if it is
asking the total with tax, rather than having to multiply by 0.08 and
add it to the total. Read questions carefully because you need to
understand when shortcuts will work.

Thursday. Students have one week to complete these. They will
count as a classwork grade so homework passes may not be used.

you have forgotten a skill!

binder. Grades are not going in the gradebook yet unless students have
a 90 or above to pass on to the next test. Please use the above links to print out extra copies of your

today if they wanted them.

outside to hit the beach ball, record our hits, and plot our data on a line
graph.

doing problem of the day in our POD composition notebook. We will do
these every day at the beginning of class.

game to guess and find the mean, median, mode, and range of numbers.

their math binders checked for a classwork grade. Please make sure you
have your dividers labeled, table of contents filled out, POD notbook in the
front pocket, and math workbook in it. Several were unprepared and
need to show me Monday.
