Textbooks

Math assignments will be given in several different forms.  Some assignments will come from the Alabama Prentice Hall Mathematics Books.  There is a class set of these books available for student use.  The students will also receive a workbook which will be used to accompany the Prentice Hall textbooks.  Each student will have his/her own workbook in which they may write and use for extra practice and some homework assignments.  Finally, we will also use the CMP – Connected Mathematics book series in this class.  These books are also only available in a class set and must remain in the classroom at all times.  Handouts will be given when appropriate and will also be posted on the class website.

 Homework

Homework is essential to learning mathematics.  I will assign homework on a regular basis.  Each student is expected to complete assignments and be prepared for any assessments.  Homework will be reviewed during class. Students must keep homework in their notebook to be used at any time for homework checks or notebook self-checks.

 Make-up Work/Incomplete Assignments

Students will be given the opportunity to make up incomplete class work or homework assignments during the Last Chance Café.  The Last Chance Café is a working lunch session that will hopefully prevent students from earning a zero (0) on incomplete assignments.  The Last Chance Café for math will be held on Tuesdays.  Students will earn partial credit for assignments completed during this time.
