RE: WELCOME TO THE BUSINESS DEPARTMENT!!
This quarter should prove to be an exciting time for your student as he/she acquires knowledge in keyboarding/computers. Students with computer skills have an advantage in today’s educational system and competitive job market. Therefore, I am delighted that your student has the exploratory business course here at J. F. Drake Middle School.
Our emphasis in class this quarter is to instill good touch-key keyboarding techniques to input information into the computer efficiently. We will be discussing computer parts and technological terminology. Students will also be required to bring in a recent article concerning technology to keep abreast of the continuous changes in this area. Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Internet Explorer will be used, as well as Excel and Access, as time permits.
Students will be required to bring their assignment pads to class everyday, along with their folder, paper, pencil and/or black or blue pen and name plate. If a student does not have their supplies in class, they will be ask to go get them and will receive a tardy. Communication from me will be written in their assignment pads on the corresponding date.
My door is always open to your questions and/or comments. If you should have any questions, please feel free to call me at (334) 887-2130 weekdays from 11:35 a.m. to 12:20 p.m., e-mail me at ajordan@auburnschools.org, write a note in your student’s assignment pad, or call me in the evenings at (334) 821-8388.
Thank you.
Please sign and return this bottom portion with your student by the next class session.
