Study Guide
You will need to be
able to do the following things:
- Locate and label the six geographical areas where
Spanish is spoken
- Name one country in each of the 6 areas where Spanish
is spoken.
- Recognize and understand the Spanish questions, ¿Cómo
te llamas?, ¿Quien eres tu?, ¿Cómo estas?, ¿Qué día es hoy / mañana?, ¿Cual
es la fecha de hoy/mañana?, and ¿Cuando es tu cumpleaños? as well as appropriate responses.
- Recognize, understand, and tell the difference between
the following German greetings and farewells: Hola, Buenos dias, Buenas
tardes, Buenas noches, Adios, Hasta luego, Hasta mañana, Nos vemos, and Nos vemos
mañana.
- Recognize and understand the days of the week and
months of the year in Spanish.
- Write out the date in Spanish using the four part
formula.
- Recognize and understand the numbers 0-20 in Spanish.
- Recognize and understand the following colors in
Spanish: azul, blanco, negro, rojo, amarillo, violeta/morado, anaranjado/naranja,
verde, rosado, gris, and café.
- Answer true/false or multiple choice questions based
on geography, order of the date, and holidays of the Spanish-speaking
countries.
The test will
include the following sections with the possible types of activities:
Listening:
1. Listen to statements and
determine whether you hear a greeting, a goodbye, a
day
or a month.
2.
Write the dates of birthdays of various people in Spanish.
3.
Understand responses to the question Como estas?.
Vocabulary:
1. Choose the word in
a row that does not fit.
2.
Match colors with descriptions of items that are that color.
3.
Match appropriate responses to greetings, goodbyes, and questions.
4.
Match numerals with the words for the numbers 0-20.
5.
Answer questions about the date and your birthday.
Culture:
1. Match the geographical
areas where Spanish is spoken with locations on a
map.
2.
Write the name of a Spanish-speaking country in each area.
3.
Answer True/False questions about geography, order of the date, and
holidays.
