JAGUARS’ Team Policies

RULES:  Jaguars are to be responsible young adults and follow the rules defined by the school and individual teachers.  Rules are designed to protect each student’s right to learn and each teacher’s right to teach.  Rules also ensure the fair and consistent treatment of all students.  Each teacher will explain his or her classroom procedures and will practice the procedures with the students on a daily basis.

CONSEQUENCES:  We do not expect Jaguars to break the rules.  When we need to implement a consequence students receive silent lunches for behavioral problems.  On the second silent lunch, a parent will be contacted.  The third silent lunch results in a team detention and a parent contact.  Four silent lunches requires an administrative conference, and five another team detention.  On the sixth silent lunch, the student will receive an office referral.

PLANNERS:  Jaguars will have their planners with them at all times.  Students are expected to write down their assignments in their planners daily.  Teachers will use the planners to sign for student passes out of the room.  Parents can use planners to see when homework has been assigned and when tests are.

PASSES:  Jaguars are allowed two passes to leave the room each day.  Students must have their planners available so that the teacher can sign the time and destination.  If a student needs to leave the room for a third time during the day, a consequence will be implemented.  If a student does not have his/her planner available for the teacher to sign, the student may leave and a consequence will be implemented.

RESTROOM:  Jaguars are given the opportunity to use the restroom before and after lunch.  If a student needs to use the restroom during class, he or she may use a pass.

LOCKERS:  Jaguars will have designated times to go to their lockers.  Each student is allowed to go to his/her locker before and after school and will have an assigned time between classes.  If a student needs to go to his/her locker at an undesignated time then he/she may use a pass.

BACKPACKS:  It is school policy that students store their backpacks in their lockers during the day.  Backpacks are used only to carry books to and from school.  If you are planning on purchasing a new backpack, please keep a smaller size in mind.

PROGRESS REPORTS:  Jaguars will receive their progress reports on the dates assigned by the school for midterm and end-of-quarter reports.  These reports will be signed by a parent/guardian and returned to the teacher the following day.  Students will also receive additional progress reports from the team every week.  It is the students’ responsibility to show these reports to their parents, as they will not be required to return these reports.  Parents will sign the student’s Thursday folder to indicate that they have seen the report.

I have read and understand the Jaguars’ team policies.
