
This is your homework
packet for the week of April 25 - May 2. The packet
is due on Friday, May 2nd.
First graders do not receive a grade for homework since
it is considered extra at home practice of the skills
covered in class.
*Spelling - Practice your words daily for our test on Friday,
May 2nd. We are working on
conventional uses of capital and lowercase letters and
correcting letter reversals. You decide which way of
studying will help you learn the spelling words best. It
does not need to be turned in.

*Reading- Read daily for at least 15 minutes. A
Saxon reader will be sent home each week for your child
to read aloud to you. This book focuses on phonics
skills that we have practiced at school. Reading aloud
will build confidence and fluency.

One minute timed reading of a story. Story this week:

*Reading Log- Please record the date, title, & rating
(you don’t have to fill out the other information) of
the books that you have read and return with the folder
on Friday to be checked. Don’t forget to count your
Saxon reader!
*Dolch Words- Practice List 9-11 for mastery

*Math-
Addition/subtraction sheets for practice. See how many
they can do correctly in 5 minutes.
