Spelling List |

Language
Arts We
will be reviewing skills learned this year. These include subjects and
predicates, possessives, common and proper nouns, pronouns, and
adjectives. We will also be completing five paragraph essays in which
the students must choose which method of writing they will use.
We
will be reading passages with our Fluency Friends and working on
improving our reading fluency. We will also be working with genre and
poetry. The students will choose a poem to memorize and
recite for the class. (This will happen in May and I will send
home more info later.)
Math:
We
are working with decimals these 2 weeks. We will learn to change from a
decimal to a fraction and from a fraction to a decimal. We will also be
ordering, comparing, and rounding decimals. Science
Students
have completed the work for ‘Our Earth’. These will come home to
serve as study guides for the Science test next Monday. We
are discussing and reading about Civil Rights. |

Reports go home April 24. Career
day is April 25. **Bash-N-Dash is the 2nd of May. Our
class has been given the “Face Painting” booth to work for that
evening. I need volunteers to come and work in our booth for 30 minutes
at a time. The time is from 5:00 – 8:00. If you are able to help out
with this, please let me know the time you can come. (Otherwise, I am
painting by myself! J ) Also, we have been asked to donate a six pack
of bottled water to sell at Bash-N-Dash. (You can go in with other
parents for a case and split the cost…)
I realize I am asking a great deal all at once, but much of this
is out of my control. I would like to thank each of you in advance for
your help. |
