2007-2008
will be an exciting year in music. We
are going to be learning about music of various styles from all over the world
as well as doing lots of different activities.
Below are some of my goals for our music program this year.
Students
will become proficient in music skills as outlined in the Alabama Music
Curriculum Guide and the National Music Standards.
Students
will build confidence through performance.
Students
will experience music of various cultures.
Students
will integrate appropriate levels of technology in music.
Students
will explore media-oriented mediums of music such as television, film, and the
recording industry.
Students
will explore music of various styles and historical eras.
We will have several special programs this year, such as a November program, a winter celebration involving all grades, the school-wide spring musical, and a chorus spring musical play.
