Mrs. Dix

                         Hi, I’m Mrs. Dix! This is my third year at Cary Woods Elementary School and I’m looking     
                         forward to working with all of the students, teachers, parents, and administration this year.

                         I hold a Bachelors of Science degree in Family and Consumer Science  from Tuskegee    
                         University, an add on in Special Education from Auburn University, and a Masters of Science 
                         degree in School Counseling from Troy State University.

                         I love being a school counselor because I really enjoy working with children, teachers and 
                        families.  I think it is important to help children to be successful emotionally, socially, and 
                        academically. I believe it is important to learn how to get along with others, and to understand 
                        how to make good choices and solve problems. Children should be able to express their needs 
                        and feelings in a safe, respectful, and effective way that is comfortable for everybody.

                        When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, sewing, gardening, 
                        reading inspirational books, traveling and collecting antiques.  I am looking forward to meeting 
                        you and hearing all about what you like to do, too!
