Solving the Mystery of the

Lost colony of Roanoke

During the lesson, students pretended to FBI agents and worked in groups to discover the mystery of what happened to the settlers of the lost colony. The students split into groups and had "top secret" bags with information that lead them to forming their own conclusions of what happened to the lost colony. They came up with reasons such as the colony immigrated with the natives, the natives attacked, starvation, a drought, and many more amazing ideas they drew from the primary sources they read. The students  learned new information about the lost colony and learned that the answer of what happened to the lost colony still remains a mystery!
