Your child is to read nightly atleast 20 minutes and record this reading in his/her nightly READING LOG. This reading can be anything subject oriented or independent. Please initial the log nightly to show that your child did read. I will check logs for entries the following school morning. A participation grade is given each Friday. Any Social Studies or Science homework reading assignments can be used for reading log.
Each Friday, a math facts timed test will be given. Your child will be given 5 minutes(the first two weeks of testing of each nine weeks) to complete 50 problems. After this, it will be just 3 minutes to complete. (for the remainder of the nine weeks)The first nine weeks will be multiplication facts. The second nine weeks will be division facts. The third nine weeks will be fractions facts. The fourth nine weeks will be a mixed assortment of multiplication, division, and fraction facts.
Each Friday, a Math weekly review test of skills learned will be given. Chapter test and/or unit test will be given upon completion of a particular chapter or unit.
