Veterans' Day Celebration and Changing of the Flags
On Friday, November 9th, Cary Woods Students celebrated and honored our Veterans with song and patriotic tribute. The Auburn High Jr. ROTC came and helped us lower our old United States flag and our Alabama State flag and ceremoniously burn them. Then our new flags, donated by Senator Ted Little and Mr. Doug Barrett, were raised under the silent and watchful eyes of Cary Woods Students. We then recited the Pledge of Allegiance and sang our National Anthem. After inspiring words from Major Sams, we sang America the Beautiful. It was a glorious afternoon and the spirit of America was in the air.
