Brod Bagert Visit

On Friday, January 19th, Brod Bagert came and shared many of his funny poems with us!  We really enjoyed participating in his poetry performance and look forward to reading more of his poetry in the future!

National Children's Book Week

Fuel your mind: Read!!

What a great week we have had!!   On Monday we held our Door Decoration Contest!  Our classroom doors looked wonderful!  Everyone was  a winner!   On Monday evening we held our P.T.A. Program with a fantastic play written by our very own Mrs. Gilbreath called BOOK TREK!  Check out the music page to see a copy of it under the Calendar of Programs link!  After the play our community of teachers, students, and parents all shared in a wonderful chili supper with everyone getting a visit from Franklin the Turtle before visiting the Scholastic Book Fair!

Tuesday was great fun as many of the children dressed up as book characters!  Mrs. LaMar was Old McDonald and Mrs. Saba was adorable as Lily from Lily and the Purple Plastic Purse!

Wednesday was busy as the children finished designing book pins to celebrate their favorite book.  Thursday they made bookmarks in the classroom and Friday was the Best PART!!  We got to wear our jammies all day and cuddle up and READ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Read-a-thon day is always one of our favorite days of the year.  Thanks to all who made National Children's Book Week so much fun!
