AEEC's Climbing Wall

  Back Home

Only five feet high, the wall is intended for horizontal movement.  It is used to improve coordination and strength while adding a great degree of fun and excitement for the students.

We discuss working together and practice partner climbing.  You have to climb with a partner and cannot leave them behind.  Students must work together to make it to the end.

The holds vary in degree of difficulty and also server to aide in learning the alphabet and numbers.  They are removable and can be replaced in various positions.

After purchasing the wall from a catalog, I realize building a wall from scratch would not be difficult at all.  It could be done at a fraction of the cost.

We establish protocol and post the rules for others that may be visiting our class.

We provide the safest possible environment for the students.  No climbing is allowed without supervision.  Mats are always in place during use.  The rules are also strictly enforced.  To prevent climbing when we are not using the wall, we stand the mats upright so the wall is behind the mats.

It is a challenge but it is the coolest thing in school!
