extension of your body.
Student

- To work hard and to listen in order to understand the
material the teacher is presenting to the class.
Instant
Activity:

dribbling-
5-7
min
A)
Each student will come in and get a red rubber ball
and practice using light and soft force and foot
dribble. Stay in your own personal
space and practice using the inside of your foot.
Lesson Focus:
Striking with
long handled implements
(arm,
putt-putt & plastic orange bats)
A)
Teacher talks about hit/striking and reviews cues.
a.
Side to target (explain what their target is, many do
not know!)
b.
Eyes on the ball
c.
Hands back
d.
Strike the ball
B)
Practice swinging at a pretend ball with just your
arm. We will all do it
together.
a.
Cues:
i.
side to target
ii.
eyes on the ball
iii.
hands back
iv.
strike at the ball.
C)
Taking turns, we will practice striking off the tee
with our hands. Everyone go to a
tee and practice striking at the top of the cone.
Must have a partner. One
person hits off the tee and then the other chases the ball down and puts it back
on the tee. After three turns you
switch. You are trying to strike
your ball to your partner.
D)
After both partners have had a chance, we stop,
bring out the bats and show the
children how to
hold the bats.
Hands together, by the skinny end.
Have
everyone practice holding the bats, and then
get with a partner and do the same task as we just
did with our hands except we use the bats to
strike.
-state your protocol for the bats!
-no swinging at friends
-only swing at your ball on your
tee!
-be careful and watch for others.
D)
Putt-putt-here the students are simply striking the
ball from one hula-hoop to the next hula-hoop.
Establish protocols for putters.
-LOW
LEVEL-never bring the putter up past
your
waist. You may lose your putter if
you
do!
Conclusion:
-Blow whistle, and stop the children.
-Ask the children the cues for striking off a tee or a putt.
-Put equipment up and line up.
-Dismiss.
