    Every student attends Physical Education classes on a daily basis.  They spend thirty minutes having structured guidance in movement skills and concepts.  My class have from 35-55 students which is two to three regular classrooms.  I have two assistants.  Mrs. Suzanne Guerin and Angie White, are the perfect fit for the job.  We teach concepts and skills together and separately to the class.  On days we teach separately, I will have developed and discussed the lesson to Mrs. Guerin and Mrs. White.  We divide the room using mats and she delivers her information and I facilitate mine.  We use class time for various activities.  The basic structure used is as follows;

            5-7min.  - instant activity (elevates HR and gets us going)

            5 min.    - instructional time (delivers knowledge and ideas)

           15-20min.    - tasks / practice (experiences and applies)

           2-3min.  - closure (discusses what we have learned)

    As far as transitional periods, when we dismiss the two classes we have, there are two more waiting at our door.  That is to say that as soon as we get rid of one we have another waiting to go. We go from 8:30am to 1:00pm without stopping.  Then we have a forty minute break before dismissal from school.  Here is what  the schedule looks like.

    From time to time, and in an attempt to maximize my instructional time, I will self assess a lesson via videotape analysis or by having a fellow educator observe and record my lessons.  Even after a teacher has established and perfected a lesson, it can be improved or at least analyzed to point out the positives.
