Sanders’
Scribbles

This
has been such a busy week!
We are really working hard to get ready for our trip.
Sarah also brought in some caterpillars and we have been
observing them as they make their transformation into
butterflies.
Centers
To get ready for our
trip, we have been building, making and researching.
Our part of the airport is the control tower.
The children have had some great ideas and we have the
outside finished. Next
week, we will be making the equipment that goes inside the
control tower. We
have also been making our suitcases and researching our airport
jobs.
Be sure to look at
the job your child is doing so that you can help them research
what to do and wear for our plane trip.

Journal
We are continuing to
work on writing and drawing details in our journals.
The children have really made a lot of improvements in
their writing and their journals are getting easier to read.
I am so proud of how hard they work.
Theme
This week at centers,
the children have been doing research on airplanes and airports.
Each day at theme time, they have been presenting their
research to the class. We
then added their new facts to our classroom web.
Also, we got a chance to see some real pictures from my
last trip on an airplane. We
will be flying to ? on Friday.
Each child has signed up for a job.
Please look at the attached sheet so that you can help
your child be ready to do their job on Friday.

Reading
Tuesday was the 100th
day of school. So,
for the first part of the week, we read books about counting and
adding. We also
made 100 day necklaces with 100 beads.
To finish out the week, we read books about winter and
snow. The book The
Snowy Day, gave us the opportunity to explore some interesting
words. Do you know
what smacking means? We do!
We even added it to our classroom dictionary.
