We researched
the activities available on a cruise ship, and the children made an itinerary
for our day.
|
Each traveler
had all the needed items: passport, boarding pass, suitcase, and camera. |
We were so
excited to set out for the port! |
We stopped for
a quick picture as we entered. |
Luggage must
be placed through the x-ray machine to ensure safety. |
Everyone has
to walk through the metal detector! |
Our security
workers even checked the co-captain with the hand wand. |
Ticket workers
were very busy stamping passports. |
Everyone
waited in line patiently to board the ship. |
Here we
go! Our captain led our group across the bridge. |
Everyone
stopped a moment to think about the fun day ahead. |
We are ready
for our day! |
When we
finally got on the ship, everyone looked around to see how it looked. |
The bridge
area (control room) was very popular! |
We waited
patiently for our travel companions, Mrs. Groom's class. |
Our first
order of business on the ship was the bon voyage party! We had
apple juice, threw confetti, and said good-bye. |
We spent some
time in the ship's theater. We watched a DVD of Mrs. Armstrong's
cruise. We got to see video and pictures of a real cruise ship.
|
Our captain
and co-caotain docked the ship so that we could could go to the Online
Room (computer lab) and the Fitness Center (P.E.). |
We had a special
arts and crafts time. We made African necklaces out of noodles and
yarn. We had to count the noodles and create a pattern for our
necklaces. |
We had special
plates and napkins for our dinner. |
The guys smile
for the camera! It's fun to travel with friends. |
After lunch,
we went on deck for putt-putt fun! The sports director was in
charge. |
Next, we spent
time in the ship's spa! The guys got a nice shave. |
The girls got
to paint their nails. |
| We
also participated in a disco and later wrote postcards home to our
families. At the end of the cruise, we rested and read books about
Africa. |
