The Fact Book of African Animals

When the hippo gets hot a liquid comes out of their skin.  The liquid is red.  The liquid keeps them cool.

No zebras stripes are alike.  That is how the zebras tell another zebra apart.

The female lion hunts while the male stays home, and the babies pull on the male lion's mane.

Flamingos do not need water so they filter like a comb, and they swish their heads around.

A baby hippo can weigh as much as 600 pounds at one year old.

I learned about a lion on Animal Planet and about the flamingo at Animal Kingdom Lodge, and the rest I learned at school.  I had fun learning about animals.
