Tips for Parents

*  Read to your child or let him/her read to you at least 15 minutes a day.

*  Math games are great to help your child construct knowledge of numbers.  Games such as Candyland, Connect Four, Hi Ho! Cherry-o, Chutes and Ladders, and Memory are great for this purpose.

*  Encourage your child to write.  This can be done through letters of correspondence, journals, or to-do lists.

*  During the holiday season, give your child an opportunity to write.  He/she can make name cards for the table or write greeting cards and thank you notes to family.  Let this be done in a fun, natural way.
