Making our classroom look like it is under the sea...

The class decided to hang "water" from the ceiling.  This way, we will save plenty of space around the room for the animals we plan to learn about and build.  We began by making a web of all their ideas for making our room look like it was under the sea.  They had several decisions to make and voted to decide.  They decided the water should be the width of a table, so they measured each piece.  They also decided a light blue and dark blue piece of crepe paper should be hung at each spot and the crepe paper should alternate short/long in a pattern.  As you can see from the pictures, at one point, we ran out of crepe paper.  The children wrote me a shopping list to help me remember and a note on the board!  Thanks to Mr. Jones, who went to the store with our list, we were able to later complete our water.  So many skills involved in making water!  Be sure to check out our "water" next time you visit!
