Dragon Moral Eels

We began by learning about moral eels, in general.  The children then voted to learn more about and build a dragon moray eel.  Be sure to check out our dragon moray eel next time you visit the classroom!

What kind of moral eel should we build?

What should use to build our eel?

Construction Crews

What do you know about eels?

What do you want to know about eels?

What have you learned about eels?

The Stuffing/Framing Crew began by measuring out three feet of fabric.  They decided to use fabric, to ensure that the eel felt slimy.  They also found reading pointers to make strong horns.  All of these decisions were made, because we learned that dragon moray eels are three feet long, have horns, and have a protective slime that covers their bodies.

The Painting Crew met next to give the dragon moray eel spots and strips.  They also added important details, such as the eyes.

The Painting Crew met today to add the eye and a few more details.  The framing and stuffing crew also met today to add the teeth and nose.

The Habitat Crew met this week to design and create a home for the dragon moray eel.  They decided to paint an ocean scene, complete with coral, seaweed, and a starfish.

Our completed dragon moray eel now lives above the cubbies in his habitat!  Be sure to check it out next time you visit!
