Ocean Theme

After exploring Mexico, we will end the year studying the ocean. We will start by creating our environment and learning some interesting facts about the Ocean. We will explore books that have factual information in them. As a class, we will suggest fish and other animals we are interested in exploring in more depth. We will vote and start our study with the most favorite. We will learn about the habitat, habits, food sources and any other interesting facts about each one. We will make representations for our class ocean; write facts for our fact books; and record facts we have learned to share with others that visit our classroom. We will integrate our writing, reading and math into our theme activities. We will explore information on the internet, in factual books and in videos/DVDs.
