| Hi!
I am so happy to be the teacher of this wonderful group of students this
year. I thought I would tell you something about myself.
I am a wife and the mother of three wonderful daughters. I am a
grandmother of three beautiful girls and a new grandson. My husband and I are experiencing the empty next
syndrome since our baby has moved out We still have
Kodi at home, our 130 pound yellow (red) lab that was inherited from our
second daughter.
I have been teaching Kindergarten since
1980. I was at Cary Woods Elementary School for five years. I
took a leave of absence for two years, when my third child was born
in 1985, and taught the kindergarten program at the Child Study Center at
Auburn University for the next two years. (This gave me more time to
be at home with baby since it was a half day program and long breaks
between the quarters) I returned to Cary Woods for the next five
years. I came to Auburn Early Education Center when it began in 1992
and have been here ever since. My undergraduate major was in
Family and Child Development. I graduated from Auburn University
in1971. I would not trade this training for anything in the world
because it gives me a greater understanding of this age child. I
received my Masters of Early Childhood Education from Columbus State
University in Columbus, Georgia (1979) when we were living there.
My hobbies include square dancing, crocheting, sewing for
grandchildren, reading romances and Christian literature, and a little yard work. My
favorite hobby is Kid Watching wherever I go! |
