I am proud to be a music teacher here at Auburn Junior High School; I teach classes in choral music, piano and general music.  All of the Fine Arts teachers here at AJHS are terrific, and I have the chance to work with other wonderful and talented music colleagues within the ACS system as well.  I have had the privilege to teach public school choral music for over 12 years in Georgia, Mississippi and Alabama.  My degrees are from Georgia Southern University (Bachelor of Music Education - Vocal Performance Major) and New Orleans Seminary (Master of Music - Piano Performance Major).  I will begin pursuing my Ed.S. degree (Education Specialist) in Music Education at Auburn University in the summer of 2008.

My husband, Jimmy, and I have been married for 17 years and have 4 children "in fur coats" - Fuzzy, Lovebird, Bootsie and Fun.  Mr. Rhyne teaches at SUSCC (Southern Union State Community College) and is an avid, amateur photographer.  Many of the pictures in this website were taken by my sweetheart.

The 2007-2008 school year was exciting for all of us in the music program. Choral students had the chance to do a joint concert with our middle school and high school choral departments, produced a full-scale "Merry Madrigals" event and enjoyed our show choir, festival and Spring choral seasons.  All of the choral, piano and general music students had opportunities to go and see The African Children's Choir in January and then "The Lion King" in Atlanta.

I'm looking forward to all of my classes this year with the returning 9th graders and eager to get to know my new students. This year we will have the opportunity to see "WICKED" in Atlanta at the Fabulous Fox Theatre and we will also be doing a musical in the Spring.  Lots of other great musical experiences are planned.  I'll "rap" up with the pictures below and Mrs.Rhyne'sRap, which was written during my first year at Auburn Junior High School during General Music Class.
