Classroom Rules

  1. Be respectful.  Students must be respectful to teachers, classmates, administrators, visitors, classroom materials, and the building.

  2. Be responsible.  Students must follow all school and team rules.  Students and parents will sign a contract saying they understand these policies.  Students will be held accountable to this document.

  3. Be prepared.  Students must come to class with all materials and homework.  They must come prepared to work and to learn.

Basic Classroom Procedures

Tardies

If a student is not in the classroom when the bell rings, he/she is tardy.  A tardy student must take responsibility for their tardiness and sign in on the appropriate form located by the door.  The teacher will also record tardies on a separate form.  After three tardies, a student will be given a tardy referral.  A signed note from a teacher or the office will excuse a tardy.

Grading Scale

100-90 = A             89-80 = B             79-70 = C             69-65 = D             64-0 = F

My Grading Procedures

I grade on a points system.  More important assignments will be worth more points.  For example, daily work might only be worth 10 points whereas the midterm might be worth 250 points.  A percentage for each graded assignment can be determined by dividing earned points by total possible points.  If a students earns a 7 out of 10 on daily work, that equals a 60%.  If a student earns 175 out of 250 on the midterm, that equals a 70%.  Students will be instructed on how to determine grades, and they will keep track of graded work in their binders.
