Academic Sessions

Every year the Counselors at AJHS meet with each student either individually (9th grade) or in small groups (8th grade) and his/her parent(s) or guardian(s) for the purpose of planning for high school and beyond. The following components are part of each session:

• Review of standardized test scores (SAT, PSAT, etc.)
• Development of a high school Four Year Plan of Study
• Selection of next year's courses
• Discussion of career interests
• Discussion of high school curriculum options (AP and IB)

Sessions will begin in September for 9th graders, and in January for 8th graders. Invitations stating the date and time of conferences will be mailed to parents/guardians.
