NOTICE: School policy forbids chewing gum or eating in class.
II. Be Responsible
A. Students should come to class with the proper materials – books, assignments, computer.
B. Students should know and follow all school policies, understanding that reasonable rules are necessary for a reasonable society.
C. Students should follow the acceptable use policy governing all technology at AJHS.
III. Be Ready
A. Be in the classroom when the bell rings.
B. Begin work as soon as you reach your seat
DISCIPLINARY PROCEDURE: Upon the first offense during a class period, you will receive a warning. The second offense during a class period will require that your parents be called that night and that you serve detention the following day after school. If you continue offensive behavior after detention has been assigned, your team will have a conference with your parents and you will be referred to the office.

Classroom Rules: Be ready. Make sure you have a pencil, your notebook, your textbook, and any assignments.
Be respectful to everyone!! Raise your hand to speak.
Be responsible. All school rules and/or policies apply to this classroom.
Generally, students will have homework every night. I understand that sometimes the student has difficulty with the homework. The parent or guardian may write a note and sign it to let me know that the student tried the homework but did not understand it. I realize how busy we all are and that some evenings students are involved in many extra-curricular activities. Therefore, if the parent or guardian will write a note and sign it, I will allow the student another night to complete the homework assignment. The note is not to excuse the student from the homework because all assignments will be completed but allows more time to complete the homework. Generally, I will ask the class when they are ready to turn the assignments in because I usually collect several assignments at one time. Students will have a test approximately every two weeks. I follow school policy for make-up work. I have high expectations for all of my students and insist upon quality work. Please remember that you may call me if you have any questions. One key to your child’s success is to keep the lines of communication open!!
Don’t forget: Communication is essential. When you let me know your child is having difficulty in math, we can all work together to ensure your child’s success!!!!
Thank you for allowing me to teach your child,
Michele Matin
